Read This and Tell Me What You Want to Do

The words on your website may be doing your business more harm than good.

There are two ways of addressing this problem;

  • Delete all your text and just have your contact details on your homepage
  • Ask someone you know and trust to be honest with you to read your website content

As the first point doesn’t need much explanation, I’ll move onto the second one.

The Benefits of a Second Opinion

Newsflash: people are sick and tired of reading the same old rubbish online; if you want to get a positive reaction then you need at least one more opinion on your content.

If your site is all about you and not your target market, it’s time to get serious and ask for some help.

Either find yourself a good website copywriter or for a more basic starting point, ask someone you know to:

“Read this and tell me what you want to do”

It can be a friend, family member or whoever; make sure they will give you a completely honest opinion, if you can find someone who fits into your target market that’s ideal.

Just ask them to read your homepage and then tell you if the words;

  • Make them want to leave your site
  • Send them to sleep
  • Confuse them
  • Want to get in touch or buy from you

If they say D then you may be onto a winner, if their answer is A, B or C you need to do something about it, such as hiring a website copywriter.

Why spend money and effort getting people to your website only for the words to drive them away?
